Patio and French doors across East Lancashire

More light, more room, and a garden you actually walk into rather than look at.

What it is

What the job involves

Either a sliding patio door or a pair of French doors, fitted into an existing opening or a new one. Sliding doors suit a narrow room because nothing swings into it. French doors open the whole width and feel more generous when they are open. Fitting is usually a day. If the opening is being widened, that is builder's work first and we come in behind it.

Who it suits

Who it is for

Anyone with a dark room at the back of the house, or a garden that never quite gets used because getting to it means going round. Also anyone replacing an old aluminium patio door, which will be cold, heavy and probably sticking. If your opening is wide, look at bi-folds instead before you decide.

The range

What we fit

Sliding patio doors in the REHAU system, and French doors in both uPVC and composite. Composite French doors give you the solid core and the wider glazing area together. Slim frame sliding doors are available where you want as much glass and as little frame as possible. Glazed to your specification, and any of the standard or bespoke colours.

Why Win-Door Fit

Why us for patio doors

The choice between sliding and French matters more than people think, and it depends on the room rather than the taste. Charlie will look at the space, tell you which one suits it, and say so plainly if the one you had in mind is going to be wrong. It is a lot of money to spend on a door that opens into your sofa.

What happens

Four steps, no surprises

01

You get in touch

02

Charlie comes out

The person who quotes the job is the person who fits it. He measures properly, talks through the options, and brings samples.

03

You get a written quote

Itemised, fixed, and it stays fixed. No day-of-install extras.

04

We fit it

Clean, tidy, and gone when we said we would be. Your FENSA certificate follows in the post.

Where we cover

Where we work

We are based on Higher Causeway in Barrowford and most of our work lands within half an hour of the door.

Across Pendle that means Nelson, Colne, Brierfield, Barnoldswick and Earby, along with Barrowford itself. In Burnley we cover the town and out to Padiham. The Ribble Valley takes us to Clitheroe, Whalley and Read, where a lot of the housing stock is stone built and needs a sash or flush casement rather than a standard opener.

Westward we work throughout Blackburn with Darwen, and across Hyndburn into Accrington and Great Harwood. Rossendale brings us Rawtenstall and Haslingden.

We also travel south into North Manchester, taking in Rochdale, Bury, Middleton, Heywood and Ramsbottom.

If you are somewhere not on that list but roughly in that circle, ask. We would rather tell you yes or no on the phone than have you wondering.

We fit patio and French doors right across East Lancashire and down into North Manchester. If you are somewhere near the edge of that, ask rather than assume.

Questions

The questions we actually get asked

Sliding or French?

Sliding if the room is narrow, because nothing swings into it. French if you want the whole opening clear when it is open. If the opening is wider than about two and a half metres, look at bi-folds instead.

Do I need planning permission?

Not usually for a like for like replacement. Widening an opening or putting one where there was not one before is a different question and depends on the property. We will tell you when you need to ask someone else.

Are they secure?

Multi point locking as standard, and laminated glass on selected styles. Modern sliding doors do not lift out of their track, which is the fear people have from older ones.

Will it be cold in winter?

Less cold than what you have now, by a long way. The glazing does most of that work and it is specified to the same standard as our windows.

What people said

What people say about us

Real reviews, from real customers, on Google and Facebook.

  • Brilliant job! Charlie and Jacob replaced my old dining room window with a new black patio door and it looks amazing 😍 Quick, efficient job, cleaned up after and just decent guys. The quote was much less than others too so all in all, I'm very happy to recommend 😊
