Working in Padiham
Padiham is tighter than Burnley and laid out differently. South of the Calder it is high density Victorian terraces in a grid, street after street of them, with old industrial buildings still standing between the rows. Then there are pockets of much newer housing dropped onto former mill sites, which are a completely different job again. The whole of the older centre is a conservation area, designated in 2020, so replacement work there wants to respect what is already on the street. We would rather tell you that at the measure than after.
