Burnley is Victorian and inter-war almost everywhere you look. The stone terraces run to thousands, mostly locally quarried sandstone under Welsh blue slate, and they come with their own problems: damp working its way through, frames that have moved with the building rather than against it, and openings that are rarely as square as they look. Out in Reedley and Brunshaw you are into inter-war semis instead, which usually means bays and a very different job. Burnley Wood and Healey Wood are conservation areas, so anything there needs thinking about before it is measured.
