The stone terraces are the bulk of it, and the thing to know is that a hundred year old opening in sandstone has usually moved. Measured properly that is no trouble. Measured off a template it is a frame that never quite sits right. Out in Reedley and Brunshaw the inter-war semis bring bays instead, which is a bigger job and a better looking one.
Windows built to a specification, not a price
Every window we fit is built on the REHAU TOTAL70 system. Seventy millimetres of profile depth, multi-chambered, and capable of a U value as low as 0.8 W/m²K when triple glazed and argon filled.
For context, Building Regulations currently ask for 1.6 W/m²K. We fit to twice that standard because the difference shows up on a bill every winter for the next twenty years, not on the day of installation.
